IMG Licensing has been appointed the exclusive North American licensing representative for The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince), the timeless literary masterpiece by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry. This new partnership will focus on amplifying the global legacy for this universally cherished book through the strategic expansion and management of a comprehensive consumer products and licensing program across North America.
First published in 1943 in New York City, The Little Prince is a cultural phenomenon that transcends borders, generations, and languages. With more than 300 million copies sold worldwide and over 650 official translations, it is one of the best-selling and most widely translated books in history. The story of a young prince traveling the universe in search of friendship, love, and meaning, the book resonates as powerfully today as it did over eight decades ago, with over 5 million copies sold worldwide every year.
“At LLP Groupe, we are thrilled to embark on this new chapter with IMG Licensing in North America. The United States holds a unique place in the history of The Little Prince – the book was written and first published in New York in 1943, and the original manuscript is preserved at the Morgan Library,” said Sophie Kopaczynski, CEO LPP Groupe. “These deep historical roots make North America a particularly meaningful territory for the brand. We are confident that IMG’s expertise and market leadership will help elevate The Little Prince to new heights and forge best-in-class partnerships.”
In close partnership with The LittlePrince, IMG Licensing will leverage its extensive experience in building licensing programs for some of the world’s best-known brands across publishing, art, lifestyle, fashion, and entertainment to bring the wonder and charm of the literary classic to a select range of consumer categories. These include apparel, accessories, health, beauty, food and beverage, home, garden, travel, gifts, toys, games and novelties, as well as digital and publishing. IMG will also develop location-based entertainment and immersive experiences, building on the brand’s global success with exhibitions, themed destinations, and interactive storytelling formats that vividly bring The Little Prince to life.
“The Little Prince is one of the most beloved novellas of all time and one that speaks profoundly and affectingly to values of friendship, love, loss, responsibility, and the power of imagination,” said Bruno Maglione, President of IMG Licensing. “Through its prose and beautiful water-color illustrations, it succeeds in communicating a philosophy of life that reaches adults and children alike at different levels. We are honored to work with LPP Groupe and look forward to forging product partnerships that can resonate with the millions who have been inspired by this literary unicorn.”
With The Little Prince marking the 80th anniversary of its French publication in 2026, the partnership with IMG Licensing is well-positioned to extend the brand’s major global momentum into North America. The anniversary celebration includes an illustrated interactive edition from Studio MinaLima, the designers behind the visual universe of the Harry Potter films, releasing on April 2, 2026, in over 20 languages worldwide.
