Rugby World Cup France 2023
The 2023 Rugby World Cup returns to France. It will be the tenth men’s Rugby World Cup in history, taking place in the year of the 200th anniversary of the sport of rugby invented by William Webb Ellis.
The 20 qualified Unions will play 48 matches to be staged in 9 host cities. 51 days of celebration all across the country as rugby will be celebrated from September 8th to October 28th 2023.
In late Summer 2023, rugby fans from all over the globe will be able to unite again to embrace the best of world rugby.
Rugby World Cup 2019 in Japan, the first to be hosted in Asia, broke attendance and broadcast audience records with 1.8 million fans in the stadiums and more than 857 million people tuning in from around the world to watch the action. Additionally, the 2019 cycle has proven to be the best licensing and merchandising programme in RWC history.
World Rugby now look to leverage on that phenomenal spectator, media and commercial success – building momentum in France: one of the most established rugby market in the world.
